Signs of the Apocalypse #293
My days of simply using Google Reader for viewing friend's shared items are over. Effective immediately, I will be returning to the wonderful world of RSS.
My experiment of not using RSS feeds was not all in vain. To be fair, I did stop a lot of my 'waste of time' Internet browsing. However, now that I'm back at work, I need something to break up the day and this might as well be it.
So, be kind to me. It might take a while to readjust to this crazy world.

welcome back to the dark side
Isn't Google Reader just an RSS reader? Confused.
Yes, Google Reader is just a RSS reader. In the fall, I was using Google Reader like crazy and was following some 50 feeds. In an extreme attempt to reduce the amount of time spent reading random garbage, I removed all my feeds. Out of habit, I kept going to Google Reader and just viewed friends shared items. After months of doing this, I've finally added feeds again, which is the reason for the post.
Long story short: I use RSS again.
If you're really looking for time to waste, you should install the plug-in "Feedly" on your Firefox. It takes all your Google Reader links, makes it pretty in a magazine-style layout, and includes by default a shit ton of cool links. Kiss your productivity goodbye.
